
“Doxology” appears once on its own and once as the last verse of “All People That on Earth Do Dwell.” Tune names listed reflect those in the most recent edition hymnal. At least one 1956 title “We Give Thee But Thine Own” appears twice in the hymnal with the same name and tune in both places. “Benediction” is the text “May the Grace of Christ Our Savior,” so that information has been added to the title. Also, select 1956 titles are titled with their use instead of their hymn name. In those cases, for consistency, the title was used as the hymn tune rather than omitting a tune name. Several 1956 titles do not have hymn tunes listed. For instance, “Hail, Thou Long-expected Jesus” (HARWELL) in the 1956 hymnal is identical to “Come, Thou Long-expected Jesus” (HYFRYDOL) in the other three versions except for the first word and the different tune. One drawback to this compilation is the inability to associate similar texts with different first letters and different tunes. It's easy to create a collection for each one to make searching easy. I want to reset my song library and import the entire United Methodist Hymnal and the Celebration Hymnal.
